Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic

Now celebrating its 28th year, this annual 2-day event will be a fun-filled adventure for the entire family! The Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic allows you to experience balloons up close, watch them launch, and even take tethered rides. Balloons of all shapes and colors will launch from Keiser Park in Windsor. The main launch happens at 6:30 AM, and will have around 30 balloons. This will be followed by tethered rides, food and craft booths, and a kids' play land. All proceeds from the festival are donated to support local non-profit organizations by this volunteer-run group.
Healdsburg Jazz Festival

Now in its 20th year, Healdsburg Jazz enjoys a national reputation for artistic excellence, hosting internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, showcasing the area’s foremost jazz performers and nurturing new talent. Artists on the first weekend include the Fred Hersch Trio and Trio da Paz, with guests Anat Cohen and Claudia Villela, saxophonist and flutist Charles Lloyd performing with Zakir Hussain, Gerald Clayton, Eric Harland, and others. The second weekend includes a special “Celebrating Geri Allen” with Ravi Coltrane, Dave Holland and Terri Lyne Carrington, and the Festival All-Stars with Bobby Watson, David Weiss, Billy Hart, and guest Chico Freeman - plus the festival's traditional finale, “A Night in New Orleans.”
Fitch Mountain Footrace

Join the 44th Annual Fitch Mountain Footrace as it takes place in the Heart of Sonoma County's Wine Country. Both the 10K and 3K courses begin and end at the Historic Downtown Healdsburg Plaza, and the course takes you through quaint neighborhoods and out around the challenging Fitch Mountain, bordering the Russian River. A custom shirt and post race refreshments are included in the entry fee for Adults and Youths, and kids ages 12 and under have the option of purchasing a t-shirt during the registration process. Hosted by the Healdsburg Kiwanis Memorial Scholarship Fund in cooperation with Healdsburg Kiwanis Club, this event raises scholarship funds for local high school seniors.
